Ridges Conservation Site

  1. 1
This 27-acre open space site located in the northwestern portion of the city.

This site encompasses some relatively high quality wetlands and mixed hardwoods within a secondary environmental corridor.  The site has a spring-fed stream locally known as “Spring Creek” that flows through a valley between drumlin glacial features and is tributary to Little Muskego Lake.

Land Management
Using prescribed burns restoration of native vegetation has begun, and disabling drain tiles to restore the hydrology.  The city recently purchased approximately 104-acres of adjacent land from the former Borst/Badertscher farmstead creating a larger contiguous conservancy area in this important watershed area now known as Badertscher Preserve
