Site Description
This 9-acre open space has a 1-acre retention pond on the south end.  Four acres of prairie were planted around the pond’s perimeter while the remainder is leased for agriculture.  Eastern Meadowlarks, American Kestrels, and Bobolinks have been identified using the restored habitat.

Land Management
Prairie vegetation was planted around this man made pond.  Prescribed fire has not yet been employed here.  Future plans are to plant the remaining area to prairie.  This site could also be enhanced with tree plantings and installation of nesting boxes.  Currently the site is being managed for invasive species including wild parsnip, thistle,  and white sweet clover, as well as to reduce the spread of Sandbar Willow.
