[ARCHIVED] ***Vehicle Thefts***

auto theft

***ATTENTION***

Muskego residents, there have been two stolen vehicles reported in less than 7 days! Both investigations are continuing at this time, so we plead with you to remember to LOCK YOUR VEHICLES!!!

Both incidents occurred during hours of darkness, which is not surprising as thieves like to use the concealment of the dark. One incident took place in the S7700 block of Westwood Drive and the other in the S8900 block of North Cape Rd.

For preventative measures and to avoid being victimized yourself, be sure to check out the #9PMRoutine which prompts us all to do the following: 1. Remove keys, wallets, cash, garage door openers and other valuables from vehicles. 2. Ensure vehicle and home windows are shut (and locked, when possible). 3. Close and lock doors on vehicles and homes. 4. Close overhead garage doors. 5. Turn on exterior lights. 6. Post that you’ve completed the #9PMRoutine on social media to join the movement!

Basically, if you like your stuff, protect it. Unfortunately, Muskego is no longer the small, quiet, secluded, little lake town it once was. Taking the proper precautions can however continue to keep us one of the safest places to live. Thanks for reading, and as always, please contact us if you have any information regarding these incidents!
