Voting Instructions

When you receive the ballot, please follow these instructions:

  1. In the presence of a witness (who is an adult U.S. citizen), the voter marks the ballot by filling in the appropriate circle, using a black pen.
If you plan to vote for a write-in - Write the person’s name in the "write-in" area and fill in the appropriate circle.
  2. The folded ballot is placed in the affidavit envelope and sealed.
  3. The voter completes and signs the affidavit envelope.
  4. The witness, who is present while the ballot was marked, completes the certificate with his or her signature and complete address. (Witness need not be a resident of the municipality in which the voter claims residency.)
  5. Due to court order, ballots may notbe returned by depositing into a drop box.  There are two options for returning your completed ballot:
    • Mail your ballot either by putting in your mailbox or taking directly to the post office. USPS recommends mailing your ballot no later than 7 days prior to Election Day. Any ballots received after the polls close will not be counted.
    • Drop off your ballot in person at the Muskego Clerk’s Office.
      • If voter is disabled and is unable to bring the ballot to the Clerk's office themselves,

another person may drop it off for them.

      • A question will be asked:  Are you delivering the voter’s ballot because the voter has determined that they require assistance returning their ballot due to their disability? If answer is yes, then:  Are you someone other than the voter’s employer, an agent of that employer, or an officer or agent of the voter’s union. If answer is yes, the ballot can be accepted.
