Public Works

The Department of Public Works is a multi-division department charged with the responsibility of providing a variety of services to the public as well as maintaining the City of Muskego’s public infrastructure and parks.

***NOTE - The City of Muskego Municipal Garage no longer has any available free compost mulch for residents in 2020.  There are still woodchips available to residents at the end of Saturn Drive.***

Services provided by the Department of Public Works include: 

  • Maintain, repair and improve city streets and bridges
  • Snow removal and ice control of city streets and parks
  • Street sweeping and roadway striping of city streets
  • Refuse and recyclables collection and disposal by contracted services agreements
  • Trim and remove dead, damaged and diseased trees from right of ways and parks
  • Provide safe and sufficient drinking water and water for fire protection
  • Clean, repair, reconstruct and maintain sanitary sewers and lift stations
  • Maintain, repair, and improve city storm water facilities
