2022 Garden Walk
A Bloomin’ Good Thyme: Friends of the Library 2022 Garden Walk
Saturday, June 25, 9am – 5pm
The Friends of the Muskego Public Library are thrilled to announce the 2022 “A Bloomin' Good Thyme Garden Walk” on Saturday June 25th from 9am-5pm! Proceeds will help fund outstanding library programs for all ages. The highlights of the day will be the tour of beautiful private Muskego gardens and an exclusive Garden Tea. There will be lectures by a noted gardener and a prominent landscape architect; perennial plant sale; a pre-owned art sale; a garden store; and a craft fair of garden art. Tickets go on sale May 14th at the Library (cash, check, or credit card with service fee) and will be $15 with children 14 and under free. Paul's Petal Pushers: Can You Dig It? 9:30am - 10:15am Learn how to get the best results when you are planting your pots with this demonstration by staff from Paul’s Petal Pushers. The demonstration will include a sun pot and a shade pot, tips for success in choosing plants and the right potting mix and best watering practices. Paul’s is located in both Muskego in Piggly Wiggly’s parking lot and in Waterford. Planters can be yours by buying a raffle ticket(s) at the Library.
Garden Craft Sale and Boutique 10am - 3pm Shop for a variety of outdoor garden art to upgrade your yard, including fused glass sun chimes, beautifully painted concrete leaves, flowers painted with alcohol ink on tiles, birds and angels from soda cans, and colorful pottery garden stakes. Also hand-made, original note cards for you to share with those you love...from the crafter's heart to yours.
Professional Planting Tips, 10:30am - 11:15 am Join Owner/President Bart Achtenhagen of Achtenhagen Services Inc., a professional landscaping company and get tips about plant placement. Achtenhagen will also share knowledge of unique, low maintenance plants and bushes.
Gelato, 11am - 3pm There’s nothing more refreshing than a scoop of gelato on a warm summer day! Treat yourself to a scoop of this Italian frozen dessert for $4. Available while supplies last.
Gardens in Bloom From Around the World, 2pm - 3pm Learn about gardens the world over from Dale Sievert. Sievert is well known in the gardening community for his unique and beautiful Japanese moss gardens on his Waukesha property. He has transformed his one-acre lot into a peaceful and serene statement of a true lover of gardening. Gardening for over 50 years, he has been recognized by major Garden magazines, cultural organizations and multiple newspaper articles. He is a world traveler and recently published a book titled “Nines And Tens” My 100 Favorite Places in The World.
Friends of the Library Pre-Owned Art Sale, 9am - 5pm Pick up a new-to-you piece of art for your home at a wonderful price!
Pop’s MarketPlace, 9am - 5pm Enjoy a free apple cider donut from 8am - 5pm by redeeming the coupon you received with your Garden Walk ticket. Make time to shop for unique giftable products, traditional & gourmet foods, and of course Pop's AWARD winning popcorn.
Elliott’s Ace Hardware, 7:30am - 8pm Need to pick up some garden supplies? Elliott’s Ace Hardware is generously offering every ticket holder a $5 off coupon to be redeemed from 6/25/22 - 7/1/22.
Afternoon Tea in the Garden, 11:30am - 1pm* Wear your prettiest garden hat and take a break from your stroll through this year’s featured gardens and relax at the home of 2021 garden hosts Paul and Judy. Come and enjoy a Traditional Afternoon Tea. *”An Afternoon Tea in the Garden” Ticket is required to attend this event. $20 tickets can be purchased at the Library. Space is limited. Rain Date will be Sunday, June 26, 11:30am - 1pm.
Silent Auction, 9am - 5pm Two Tickets donated by Spirits of Norway Vineyard to the Great Grape Stomp Experience on September 24, 2022. Take a course on grape stomping, collect buckets of grapes, stomp the grapes "I Love Lucy" style with peasant dress costumes, eat lunch provided by the Vineyard, and leave with a bottle of wine and great memories!

THE GARDENS
Whimsical, Magical Mystery Tour, 9am - 5pm From the moment you view the front yard with the variety of flowers, shrubs and colorful accents, you will be struck with wonder, but as you round the corner you will start to see the whimsical. Step onto the back patio and the magical gardens open up. Which way to go: towards the sound of running water or the pink flamingos? There are endless things to look at and discover. This is where the mystery comes in. Evolving for over 20 years, the gardens are a happy place, where you can lose yourself, be creative and just have fun. Garden art and jewelry will be for sale!
Neighbors With No Fences, 9am - 5pm This welcoming garden is designed to have color and lots of variety all year long. The garden has everything from roses, hostas, cone flower, mums, tulips, iris buttercups, ground cover, and much more! Personalized with many garden ornaments, the garden tells a story about the owner’s family and their interests. A vegetable garden and fire pit feed body and soul.
Raven's Heart Farmstead, 9am - 5pm Visit this 1860's farmstead and be transported to its magic and enchantment, kept alive by the current owners. View the life-size Victorian statues created by the former owner-artist. The wife is a Certified Clinical Herbalist - visit the herb garden and learn the medicinal benefits of herbs. The husband plays the American Indian flute and may serenade you.
Gardens on the Green, 9am - 5pm One is always entertained by golfers when living on the 6th green of the Muskego Lakes Country Club, but living on a golf course has its challenges. Pines protect the house from errant golf balls and a berm creates a barrier between the two properties. The berm is filled with perennial flowers and bushes with a touch of garden art for some whimsical fun. A beautiful vista for guests and golfers alike.
